Queen Margaret’s York

Insights from our team

Whether your daughter has ambitions to become a doctor, artist, engineer, professional 3 day event rider, lawyer or accountant, the inspiring teachers go the extra mile to do all they can to support and guide her.

Even the day pupils are called day boarders and hence have a bed in the boarding house for the nights when there is so much going on in school that they inevitably want to stay in! The horizontal boarding house structure allows girls to progress towards independence, starting year 7 in the homely, nurturing feel of Red House and finishing year 13 in a row of small cottages, similar to university life.

The stunning countryside campus allows room for all the usual sporting facilities of AstroTurf, riding stables, theatre etc, as well as giving a true feeling of safety. Despite the rural setting, the culture and shopping of York are in the doorstep. Trains to London only take 2 hours so it’s surprising for some, very accessible.
